To give a concept of how deadly fun this was, in the time it took me to drain out even half the Welsh lords, the Crusaders state lost 5 leaders, the Pope was changed 3 times, and some fool named King Louis of France destroyed the entire Navarre faction with all lords vivisected. suffice to say this one took an ungodly amount of time to do, since killing your entire faction off using only the AI is neither fast nor fool proof. and NOPE.įine I thought, what if I'm the only vassal!? Turns out, turning the mortality of AI lords to 100% is a gruesome little decision but despite all hazards (also, a bug that means 100% still doesn't work 100% of the time) I carried on. Made myself a male, spent an ETERNITY for england to kill my king. So perhaps only males can do it I thought. Still, though the 5 lords all died in one battle including my king, I was not given the crown. Fine I thought, I'll let the English do it themselves.

So was a I queen? NOPE! I got passed over for the next highest lord in renown. So, being the good little daughter I was (I choose princess start on that particular file).I helped the english stick a dagger in his heart. The AI was an absolute crapshoot at actually defeating my Welsh king, as in I had all of England fight him and he still managed to walk away with 10 soldiers. and they couldn't, but I found a second more depressing issue. A simple and highly liberal use of cheating (I was already using cheats to quickly kill Royal armies, so why not!) got me 2k renown. Now of course, once I knew this particularly wonderful trick I had to use it for myself, especially since I now knew I simply needed a higher renown then the rest of my soon to be cronies.I mean vassals.yes vassals. The "catch up" lord did screw my results once hence my earlier comment! Of course, since I didn't spend more then a few in game days on each save, this was typically the NPC who spawned with the highest renown in the faction occasionally two spawned close by and therefore one could in nick the highest renown if given the opportunity.but still it was the highest renown. He who has the highest renown gets the throne. The person who inherits the throne is based on renown. On each save file (meaning no new game) the same "individual" typically (see below) inherited the Throne from the now headless king, a clue had been found! This individual however changed between save files. Some quick delving sorted out this issue. Like, poor Henry got his head lopped off 10-15 times for good measure, across 2-3 runs.

After remembering how to edit that, I went and killed the king of France, Scotland, Wales (of which I was, woops), and England.

I tried at first to get the AI to do this by messing with the mod order.but the AI has an absolutely pitiful capability of killing large quantities of Kings because the Royalty carry so many soldiers and other general issues.so I tried to capture some. To test this, I decided I had to, well, kill some kings. Since I saw someone posting about a desire to become king through the act of regicide (quite detailed planning) and I couldn't find anything on this particular heineous act of Macbething a Crown.I decided I'd try and sort out how Medieval Conquest determines the line of succession for Kings and the other Royal Titles. Read below if you want to read what a really boring night and a bad idea can lead to for me, warning lots of regicide ahead! Renown determines which AI lord gets the crown but you get skipped, always. TL DR (its long so this seems fair): In Medieval Conquest there's no way unto which your character can become king through regicide.
